Double At Doncaster

A great way to start the New Year off with two winners at Doncaster on Monday. The Golden Rebel kicked the day off well when winning on debut under rules. He took the Maiden Novices’ Hurdle convincingly by 29 lengths under a great front running ride from Jack Andrews to beat his 16 rivals. He is now For Sale and I would be delighted to keep him in the yard!

He has great form having already won 2 point-to-points; a 3 mile Restricted race at Charing and a 2 mile 4 Open Maiden at Cocklebarrow and was 2nd in a 2 mile point-to-point flat race.  So has proved he has speed and stamina to go on.

He is a 7 year old by Gold Well out of Good Thought and is well related being a half-brother to True Self trained by Willie Mullins a 10 time winner with 6 wins on the flat and 4 under NH rules.

He is ready to run, looks a progressive type and should give his new owner plenty of fun. Please get in touch if you are interested.

Shanty Alley followed up his win at Uttoxeter with another fantastic round of jumping under Bryan Carver to take the 3 mile 2 Novices Handicap Chase, again a great front running performance to win by 12 lengths for owners Jerry Wright, Adam Lucock and Pat Murray.

Felton Bellevue put in another good run to finish 3rd at Exeter under Kielan Woods, the ground had slightly gone against him but another fine effort from him and he will now more than likely step up in trip and should be winning soon.

Welsh’s Castle ran well at Kempton under Jack Quinlan in what looked a very competitive event, he has come out of his race well.

Charyn Canyon didn’t seem to enjoy the All-Weather at Lingfield and was disappointing not to have built on her run at Southwell in the mares bumper. She will now go over hurdles and is certainly better than her last run would suggest.

Entries for this week include Hugo’s Reflection, Kilbrew Boy, Gazette Bourgeoise and Norvics Reflection.
