Winners in December

The horses have been in great form with 4 winners so far this month. Kilbrew Boy and Charlie Case kicked off the winning streak when taking the Amateur Riders Handicap Chase at Wincanton, this was the same race they won last year. Fern Hill followed with another great win at Wetherby this time under Jack Quinlan, he had previously won at Wetherby under Kielan Woods. Midnightreflection kept the winners coming with a decisive victory at Plumpton under Bryan Carver. Shanty Alley made it our 10th winner of the season when winning emphatically at Uttoxeter yesterday, jumping superbly throughout and leading from start to finish under a very positive ride from Bryan Carver, he really deserved to get his head in front again, just needed everything to click and they certainly did that in style.

Hugo’s Reflection ran at Fontwell but didn’t enjoy the testing conditions, Felton Bellevue ran well and finished 5th at Fontwell, Coded Message ran at Taunton but made a mistake at the first fence where she lost all momentum and could never get back on terms, Charyn Canyon made her racecourse debut at Southwell and did not disgrace herself on ground that wasn’t ideal but she will have learnt a lot from the racecourse experience and Silent Encore didn’t appreciate the heavy ground at Wincanton.

Gazette Bourgeoise ran another solid race at Exeter to finish 4th, she stumbled on landing over the third last which cost her any chance of getting to the leader.

Welsh’s Castle ran another honest race at Uttoxeter to finish 2nd following his 3rd place at Leicester after 940 days off the racecourse, I was delighted with his performance. Kilbrew Boy also ran at Uttoxeter but didn’t enjoy the heavy ground conditions and could never get on terms.

Princess Roxy has been declared to run at Fakenham tomorrow (Sunday 20th December) so fingers crossed she handles the course and runs well.
